Sophomore Lyanna Garcia led Bishop Montgomery (1-0) to a 25-17, 25-15, 25-20 sweep of West Torrance (0-1) in the Knights’ season opener on Thursday. The outside hitter was efficient with 12 kills on 24 total swings and had two service aces and four digs.
Tiffany Phillips and Madison Reynolds had 15 and 14 assists, respectively, for Bishop Montgomery, while Gillian Miles and Sydney Hall each chipped in nine kills. Phillips also led her team in digs with eight.
