El Segundo boys water polo defeated Hoover 19-10 on Thursday in its season opener.
Senior Nick Paz and Joe Douchette led the Eagles with each notching four goals. Junior Kelly Reynolds and sophomore Kyle Crist scored three goals each.
Senior Justin Knoll had 11 saves in El Segundo’s victory over Hoover, the ninth-ranked team in CIF Southern Section Division 4.
