Palos Verdes High School senior Brandon Holt and Los Alamitos High’s Riley Smith advanced to the semifinals of the U.S. Open Junior Doubles Championships on Thursday with a come-from-behind super-tiebreak win.
The wild-card pairing beat Slovakia’s Lukas Klein and Czech Republic’s Patrik Rikl, 2-6, 6-3, 10-4.
Holt and Smith next meet South Africa’s Lloyd George Harris and Japan’s Yosuke Watanuki in the semifinals on Friday.
