The Torrance Babe Ruth 14-year-old All-Stars bounced back from an opening-game loss to Tri-Valley by winning its next three games in the Pacific Southwest Regionals in Riverton, Utah, beating Riverton 11-0, Hamilton, Ariz. 9-8 in eight innings and defeating West Side, Utah, 17-1.
Against Hamilton, Kai Hershberger went 3 for 4 with a two-run home run to tie the score in the sixth inning 6-6. Thomas Bainton went 4 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs.
Kyle Hatai picked up the win on the mound, tossing four innings, allowing three hits.
Against West Side, Hatai went 4 for 4 with two runs and an RBI, Tanner Schafer went 3 for 4 with four RBIs and Cary Arbolida went 3 for 4 with two RBIs.
Torrance advances to the semifinals on Friday for a rematch against Tri-Valley.
