Peninsula’s Ena Shibahara (shown above) advanced out of the Round of 16 and the quarterfinals with a pair of 6-1, 6-1 wins at the CIF Southern Section girls tennis Individual tournament on Wednesday at the Seal Beach Tennis Center.
Shibahara, who is looking for her third straight CIF Individual title, will play in the semifinals on Thursday, with the championship match to follow if she wins.
Also advancing is the Peninsula doubles team of Tia Elpusan and Sara Khattab (shown below). Semifinals take place at 11 a.m., with the final at 2 p.m.
