Jose Ortiz scored on a free kick from 25 yards out in the 79th minute as the Leuzinger boys soccer team defeated Lawndale 2-1 in a nonleague game on Tuesday night.
Ortiz shot the ball with his left foot into the upper corner of the net.
Jorge Cortez also scored, off a pass from Lester Pineda, for Leuzinger (1-0).
Adrian Acosta made six saves for Leuzinger.
